Journal of personal and household accounts kept by Sanford B. Moses and his wife, Annie, of New York City. Moses was a violinist, a member of Sousa's Band, and a bandmaster in the New York Military Band. This journal records his wages from musical performance along with expenditures for food, clothing, travel, and other sundry goods and services. This item also includes an inventory of his mother's estate.

John Philip Sousa (November 6, 1854 – March 6, 1932) was an American composer and conductor of the late Romantic era known primarily for American military marches. He is known as "The March King" or the "American March King", to distinguish him from his British counterpart Kenneth J. Alford who is also known as "The March King".
